RETURNS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

  • If a product does not remain serviceable for the full warranty period, then upon return of the defective unit to Japanese Engines & Parts ("JE") by the original buyer. JE will, at its sole discretion, either provide a product exchange or refund, any and all exchanges and refunds occurring after 30 days shall be subject to a pro-rated cost by time usage.

  • JE reserves the right to tear down and excamine defective products before adjusts are made.

  • No return or adjustments after 30 days or any previously installed products.

  • Cores (if required with a deposit) must be returned within 30 days. All core deposits will be refunded within the 30 day period. 

  • Core exchanges (if required without a deposit) must be returned within 30 days. If a required core is not returned within the 30 day period, warranty will be void.

  • All returns are subject to a minimum of 20% restocking fee.

  • Deposits on special order items(s) are not refundable.

  • All returned checks are subject to $35.00 "returned check fee".

  • Customers are responsible for original and return freight charges if the transaction(s) is cancelled or refused. 

WARRANTY INFORMATION

About Our Policy

This Warranty Policy ("Warranty") shall apply solely to engine long blocks, cylinder heads and crankshafts sold by Japanese Engines & Parts ("JE").

JE warrants that each engine, cylinder head and crankshaft sold by JE shall be free of defects in materials and workmanship, subject to the following Terms and Conditions.

​

Warranty applies solely to the original buyer of JE products. This Warranty is non-transferable to another party. 

​

Warranty Terms for NEW & REBUILT Engines:

​

This Warranty shall exist for a period of 12 months with Unlimited miles, and covers parts only. Labor is not covered but can be added to your shopping cart. Warranty term begins on the date of sale from our retail or online store. 

  • 1-Year Labor Warranty available for purchase

Warranty Terms for USED Engines:

​

This Warranty shall exist for a period of 6 months with Unlimited miles, and covers parts only. Labor is not covered, and CAN NOT be added to shopping cart. Warranty term begins on the date of sale from our retail or online store. 

  • Labor Warranty is NOT available for purchase on USED Engines

Warranty Term for Cylinder Heads & Crankshafts:

​

This Warranty shall exist for 12 months, and cover parts only. Labor will not be covered. Warranty term beings on the date of sale from our retail or online store.

Warranty Term for Parts:

​

This "Parts" Warranty shall exist for 12 months, and cover parts only. Labor will not be covered. "Parts" include timing cover, oil pump, water pump, piston & rings, connecting rods, gaskets, etc. Warranty term beings on the date of sale from our retail or online store.

Standards:

​

Subject to the limitations listed herein. All products must be installed, maintained or adjusted by a certified technician. Proof of install, maintenance or adjusting must be provide upon request (work order, receipt, etc). JE shall conduct a diagnostic process to determine if the product is free of defects in materials and workmanship, and if installation and maintenance procedures were followed accordingly - see Limitations & Additional Owner/User Obligations below. JE, at it's option, shall replace the product within the Warranty term after the diagnostic process determination by JE that the product is defective. All products are to be returned for inspection. Products not returned will not be warranted. All repairs and/or replacements covered by this warranty must be authorized by JE. Unauthorized repairs will not be paid.

Limitations & Additional Owner/User Obligations:

​

This warranty applies to products originally supplied by JE. This Warranty does not apply to or include any of the following:

​

1) Damage as result of installer error

2) Damage resulting from OVERHEATING (all engines and cylinder heads are equipped with a heat tab), LACK OF LUBRICATION, or CONTAMINATION.

3) Damage resulting from PRE-IGNITION or DETONATION. This includes but is not limited to: melted or broken piston, broken piston rings, damaged cylinder heads, leaking head gaskets, etc.

4) Broken crankshafts, broken connecting rods, broken or damaged piston rings, broken valve train results from excessive R.P.M.

5) Repair or replacement required as a result of any accident or misuse.
